Bachelor Thesis - Department of Computer Science - January 2026
Developed a data-driven software solution that determines the most economical refueling plan for diesel trucks along fixed routes, minimizing fuel costs through strategic refueling decisions.
The algorithm frames the problem as a shortest-path search over a fully connected graph of fuel stations, using best-first traversal with dominance pruning to eliminate suboptimal states. Evaluation on 6,600 routes between major German cities demonstrated consistent cost savings compared to full refill and random strategies.
